Tom Erickson, MA, CLO, Human Resources/Organizational Development Services

As Chief Leadership Officer and seasoned Human Resources practitioner with a focus on Management and Organization Development, Tom has held executive positions for over 25 years.  Reinforcing his expertise in organizational behavior, Tom has significant experience in marketing and operations management. Tom has been a leader of the firm’s succession and transition practice, having designed and directed multidisciplinary strategies for clients who are seeking successful leadership transition plans.  He has extensive merger and acquisition integration experience, which includes specialization in the prevention of violence and its aftermath in the workplace.

As a principal for the Baron Center, Tom focused on Executive and Management Coaching, Management and Organization Development, and Strategic Human Resources Management.  Prior to that, he led Erickson & Associates, a full service workplace behavior consulting practice.  Tom’s background and experience was gained through executive level positions that he held with Elgar Electronics Corporation, Solar Turbines, Design Futures, Inc., and Oliver Corporation.  He developed and implemented state-of-the-art manufacturing operations for large scale cross-border facilities between the United States and Mexico.  This included transitions and integrations related to three acquisitions and ten ownership changes.  He was a driving force behind the turnaround from an unprofitable, struggling company to a profitable growing enterprise and coordinated the construction and transition to a new 90,000 square foot facility within on time and within the budgeted cost.

Tom is an expert in the application of diagnostic tools designed to identify behavioral traits and characteristics which impact workplace behavior and productivity.  Having a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, from Indiana University and a Masters degree in Management and Organization Development and Social Psychology, he is a skilled analyst with an emphasis on executive leadership trends and practices.

Given his strong background as an executive advisor, Tom is an active board member for the California Coast Credit Union, a $2 billion, state chartered institution, Star/Pal, a not for profit organization focused on helping the disadvantaged,”at risk” youth in San Diego County, Shoreline International, an electronics and medical equipment manufacturer, and Baron Center, a consulting firm focused on Maximizing an Organization’s Human Potential:  Transforming Organizations; Changing Lives.
