Jordan Goldrich , LCSW, CEAP, Associate, Human Resources/Organizational Development

Jordan Goldrich helps stop the money, people and productivity drain caused by tension among valuable, competitive, driven executives and employees. As a specialist in resolving workplace conflict, Jordan coaches high achievers to get results through teams and collaborative relationships. He teaches leaders how to use coaching skills to achieve buy-in and increase performance.

Jordan’s qualifications include 30+ years developing leadership, organization development and risk management programs. He is adjunct faculty for the Center for Creative Leadership and is certified in the Center’s suite of multi-rater assessment tools. He co-designed and is the program advisor for the San Diego State University Certificate Program in “Coaching For Organizational Excellence.” He received the “Outstanding Instructor” award in 2005 for his work in the program.

Jordan’s clients include BAE Systems, Inc., The San Diego Union-Tribune, Hewlett-Packard, PacifiCare, San Diego State University, the Navy, the Marines, the San Diego Health and Human Services Agency and several city governments. He has worked with General Dynamics, Costco and the San Diego Padres.

As Senior Vice President, Operations Jordan managed a private consulting firm providing managed behavioral health services and Employee Assistance Programs. His organization grew 800% in seven years on the strength of its reputation for quality and service. It attained a California HMO license and was purchased by Wellpoint Health Networks, one of the worlds largest healthcare providers. Jordan coordinated the integration of the firm into the new organizational structure, meeting all goals and timetables.

He received his Master of Social Work and Master of Arts in Education from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He is a licensed clinical social worker and a Certified Employee Assistance Professional.

Pattie Vargas, Associate, Human Resources/Organizational Development

Pattie Vargas is uniquely qualified to assist organizations to achieve dramatic improvements in workplace performance.  An expert in classical process improvement and technical project management, she provides the critical missing piece to many failed initiatives: effective business relationships.  Her specialty in interpersonal skills and career development for technical disciplines, assists her clients in aligning their people and processes resulting in increased commitment, accountability and results. She partners with senior leaders to develop solutions and customize programs for each client environment.  

Pattie conducts a system assessment and root cause analysis for complex projects in order to design an appropriate intervention or improvement strategy. Using this methodology, she successfully initiated and managed the implementation of a project management office for infrastructure software projects.  In addition to developing processes and workflows to effectively manage the project plans and timelines, she designed a cross-functional work team methodology, resulting in quicker deployment of projects due to more thorough analysis, increased team cooperation and the reduction of rework.

Pattie’s qualifications include more than 20 years of team and project management, human performance improvement, organizational development and interpersonal skills development.  She has a Masters degree in Organizational Management and a Bachelors degree in Business Management. She holds the coveted Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute as well as a certification in Total Quality Management and Process Improvement from the University of California, San Diego. She is certified in the DISC Behavioral Assessments.

Pattie was a senior manager in IT Software Development and IT Project Management with Mitchell International. She was a Certified Associate in Career Transition with Lee Hecht Harrison and a Senior Consultant with Support Technologies in the help desk industry.  Her clients include Brandes Investment Partners and Nicholas Applegate Capital Management where she implemented a management training program for operations management. In a 2 yr engagement, she developed and trained a sales relationship management curriculum and managed a software development project (Mexico and US) for Always Positive, Inc. Other clients include Beckman-Coulter, NextWork! Career Transition Consulting, First American Financial, Pioneer Natural Oil and Gas and the Padre Dam Water Municipality.  She has also served such nonprofit clients as the Girl Scouts and the YMCA.

Pattie has developed and delivered successful programs that address issues with employee retention, management development and team effectiveness. She partnered with organizational leaders to deliver coaching and training programs unique to their corporate culture and organizational maturity. She led process improvement teams consisting of consultants from multiple companies chartered with assessing and reengineering internal Help Desks. Her awareness of the interdependencies in any process was beneficial in performing accurate root cause analysis in each situation.

Pattie is a frequent conference speaker on the topics of inter-personal business relationships, with a particular emphasis on softskills development for technical disciplines. Her articles have been featured in ISSIG Bits, Training Trends and WITI Strategist. Her teambuilding methodology was featured in an edition of PMNetwork magazine.

Her professional affiliations both past and current include the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, American Society of Training and Development (ASTD), Project Management Institute (PMI) and Women in Technology International (WITI). She was named one of the Top 10 Business Women of 2007 by The American Business Women’s Association and serves as one of their National Ambassadors. Pattie sits on the Board of Directors for The American Business Women’s Association in Escondido, California and for The Church at Rancho Bernardo in San Diego, California.

Gregg Ward, CMC, Principal, Human Resources/Organizational Development
Gregg is a Certified Management Consultant, specialist trainer, facilitator, executive coach and HR/OD expert. He considers himself very fortunate to have had many terrific opportunities to contribute to the success of global organizations such as ADP, AXA Financial Services, Bristol Myers-Squibb, Ericsson, Ford, Harley-Davidson, Kaiser Permanente, Kraft Foods, Lockheed Martin, NASA, Qualcomm, Sandia National Labs, The US Navy, and Warner Bros.

He is also the author of the best-selling business book “Bad Behavior, People Problems & Sticky Situations: A Toolbook for Managers and Team Leaders. Gregg frequently speaks at conferences and meetings in North America and Western Europe.

Gregg began his current career in the early 1980s as a consultant and specialist trainer with the New York City Police Department where he transformed his extensive, award-winning experience in professional theater into a unique and powerful training program for police officers and their supervisors.

After moving to Great Britain in 1988, Gregg became a journalist and worked for five years for The Times of London, The Independent Newspaper, Scotland on Sunday, and The BBC who sent him to Berlin three months after “the wall” came down to file a series of reports on the city’s reunification.

In the early 1990’s Gregg returned to New York City to serve as Producing Artistic Director of Plays for Living, Inc – the nation’s largest educational theater company where he grew their corporate sector revenues by 400% in just over four years. In 1997, he and his partner Donna Orlando moved to Southern California to establish their firm Orlando-Ward & Associates, Inc. now recognized as national experts in the use of live, professional theater, interactive facilitation and experiential learning as training tools on complex workplace issues. With delivery teams in Southern California, New York, London, Miami, The Bay Area, Atlanta and Chicago, Orlando-Ward’s training programs on diversity, harassment, leadership and change have been seen thousands of times at major corporations, non-profits, educational institutions and federal, state and city agencies.

As a senior consultant, advisor and facilitator, Gregg is frequently brought into major organizations to advise on managing change; conduct focus groups and interviews; to coach their senior executives; to resolve conflict; and to facilitate their leadership offsite meetings. He was the primary facilitator of the merger of Coopers & Lybrand’s IT group with Price-Waterhouse’s. After the Piper Alpha oil rig disaster, Gregg developed and led an interactive program for Shell Oil executives on conducting investigations of offshore rig incidents involving fatal accidents. For two years he led the diversity training of all employees of Nissan Motor Corporation NA. Gregg did the same for AXA Financial Services (formerly The Equitable Life Insurance Co.). He created a ground-breaking live theater training program on diversity for Harley-Davidson Motor Company and delivered it to all of their dealership owners and general managers at their global conferences in 2005 and 2006. In 2005 he facilitated the annual operations conference of Kraft Foods and provided all of the workplace harassment training to 2,500 employees of Warner Bros studios in Los Angeles. Gregg continues to provide all of the sexual harassment prevention and diversity training to Qualcomm.

He resides in San Diego, reads constantly and plays tennis as much as possible.
