Leadership, management and performance coaching are critical skills for individual and organizational success in the new millennium.  Increasingly, top performing organizations are focusing on the development of a "coaching culture." You may want to attend or you may want to send your Human Resources or training staff.  Coaching skills will also help leaders, managers and supervisors enhance their ability to work collaboratively with individuals and teams as well as to develop their employees.   

Coaching Essentials for Performance and Development

This highly interactive course focuses on the two types of coaching addressed in the SDSU Certificate Program, Coaching For Organizational Excellence.  These are coaching to:

1) develop leadership and management competencies

2) increase performance, morale and retention

Participants will learn how the brain takes in information and produces behavior in order to uncover and leverage deep motivation in the coaching conversation.  They will practice initiating the coaching conversation and creating a safe environment for people they are coaching to take the risk to learn and change.  They will receive and practice two coaching process models, sample coaching agreements, and other materials. Topics include core coaching competencies, facilitating learning and results, planning and goal setting, managing progress and accountability, communicating effectively, how to uncover and leverage intrinsic motivation, ethics, professional standards, establishing the agreement to coach, and powerful questions.
